Vulnerability Insight: The following vulnerabilities exist: - There is a command injection in HNAP1 (exploitable with authentication) via shell metacharacters in the MTU field to SetWanSettings. - There is a command injection in HNAP1 (exploitable with authentication) via shell metacharacters in the Type field to SetWantSettings. Vulnerability Impact: Successful exploitation would allow an authenticated attacker to gain complete control over the target device. Affected Software/OS: D-Link DIR-818LW through firmware version 2.06b01. Solution: No known solution was made available for at least one year since the disclosure of this vulnerability. Likely none will be provided anymore. General solution options are to upgrade to a newer release, disable respective features, remove the product or replace the product by another one.
