Vulnerability Insight: The flaw exists within the REST plugin which is using a XStreamHandler with an instance of XStream for deserialization without any type filtering. Vulnerability Impact: Successfully exploiting this issue may allow an attacker to execute arbitrary code in the context of the affected application. Failed exploit attempts will likely result in denial-of-service conditions. Affected Software/OS: Apache Struts 2.1.2 through 2.3.33 and 2.5 through 2.5.12.
