Title: | Debian LTS: Security Advisory for ruby-kramdown (DLA-2316-1) |
Summary: | The remote host is missing an update for the 'ruby-kramdown'; package(s) announced via the DLA-2316-1 advisory. |
Description: | Summary: The remote host is missing an update for the 'ruby-kramdown' package(s) announced via the DLA-2316-1 advisory. Vulnerability Insight: ruby-kramdown processes the template option inside Kramdown documents by default, which allows unintended read access (such as template='/etc/passwd') or unintended embedded Ruby code execution (such as a string that begins with template='string://<%= `). NOTE: kramdown is used in Jekyll, GitLab Pages, GitHub Pages, and Thredded Forum. Affected Software/OS: 'ruby-kramdown' package(s) on Debian Linux. Solution: For Debian 9 stretch, this problem has been fixed in version 1.12.0-1+deb9u1. We recommend that you upgrade your ruby-kramdown packages.
