Vulnerability Insight: The flaw is in the application caused by improper bounds checking when processing .avi files with an overly long string. Vulnerability Impact: Successful exploitation will allow remote attackers to corrupt memory and cause a denial of service or execute an arbitrary code. Affected Software/OS: GOM Media Player version 2.2.56.5158 and prior on Windows Solution: No known solution was made available for at least one year since the disclosure of this vulnerability. Likely none will be provided anymore. General solution options are to upgrade to a newer release, disable respective features, remove the product or replace the product by another one.
