Category: | Denial of Service |
Title: | OpenSSH Denial of Service Vulnerability |
Summary: | OpenSSH is prone to a remote denial-of-service vulnerability. |
Description: | Summary: OpenSSH is prone to a remote denial-of-service vulnerability. Vulnerability Insight: The default configuration of OpenSSH through 6.1 enforces a fixed time limit between establishing a TCP connection and completing a login, which makes it easier for remote attackers to cause a denial of service (connection-slot exhaustion) by periodically making many new TCP connections. Vulnerability Impact: Exploiting this issue allows remote attackers to trigger denial-of- service conditions. Affected Software/OS: OpenSSH 6.1 and prior. Solution: Updates are available. Please see the references for more information. CVSS Score: 5.0 CVSS Vector: AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:P |
