Description: | Summary: Microsoft ASP .NET is prone to a cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability. Vulnerability Insight: The flaw is due to error in the handling of 'HtmlContainerControl', which does not prevent setting the 'InnerHtml' property on a control that inherits from HtmlContainerControl when processing the vectors related to an attribute. Vulnerability Impact: Successful exploitation could allow attackers to conduct cross-site scripting attacks against the form control via vectors related to an attribute. Affected Software/OS: Microsoft ASP.NET version 2.0 and prior. Solution: No known solution was made available for at least one year since the disclosure of this vulnerability. Likely none will be provided anymore. General solution options are to upgrade to a newer release, disable respective features, remove the product or replace the product by another one.
