Title: | F5 BIG-IP - SSL vulnerability CVE-2016-4545 |
Summary: | F5 BIG-IP is prone to a denial of service (DoS) vulnerability. |
Description: | Summary: F5 BIG-IP is prone to a denial of service (DoS) vulnerability. Vulnerability Insight: On virtual servers with Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) profiles enabled, an SSL alert sent during the handshake may produce unnecessary logging and resource consumption on a BIG-IP, possibly causing the Traffic Management Microkernel (TMM) to restart and produce a core file. Vulnerability Impact: When a Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) alert is sent during the handshake, the TMM may restart and produce a core file while logging SSL 'codec alert' messages to the /var/log/ltm file. Solution: See the referenced vendor advisory for a solution. CVSS Score: 5.0 CVSS Vector: AV:N/AC:L/Au:N/C:N/I:N/A:P |
